Why selling log buildings online is hard
Every order is a little different: size, door position, number of windows, roof. There’s no catalog SKU to put in a cart.
So most manufacturer websites end with a “request a quote” form. The customer leaves without seeing anything, and your sales team spends time on calls and sketches just to work out what the customer actually wanted.
What the configurator does
The customer changes the size, places doors and windows, and the whole model rebuilds: log courses, openings, roof. The engine builds every log as a separate part with real corner joints. The output:
- log-by-log timber specification with lengths and joints
- cutting list optimised for your stock lengths
- full component list you can price against
- a lead with the complete building configuration attached
For production
In the manufacturer’s dashboard, the design can be exported as CNC files (BTLx) and as IFC for BIM. File export is currently in beta and available only in the dashboard, not in the public configurator.
Not a template widget
The demo uses a generic log profile and a basic set of doors and windows. A production version is built around your system: log section and profile, corner joint type, your doors, windows and roofs, your material codes in the specification.
Who it’s for
- manufacturers of timber garages, log cabins, garden rooms and sheds
- sauna and log home kit manufacturers
- dealers and installers
FAQ
Is this the actual product?
This is a demo build. A production configurator is set up around your product line.
Can it use our log profile and joints?
Yes, that’s the point. Send us drawings of your profile and joints, and we’ll scope the work.
Can you do houses, saunas, gazebos?
Same engine, different building rules. Let’s discuss your product range.
How is it embedded?
A single iframe or script tag on your existing site. No CMS migration.
